William "Bill" C. Rissky

William Charles Rissky (Bill) was born Oct 18, 1953. His mom went into the hospital early thinking she was in labor but was sent home because Bill just wasn’t ready to make his grand entrance. Even then he was calling the shots! Bill grew up in La Grange, IL., attended St. Cletus Catholic School and Lyons Township High School. From a very young age he was obsessed with cars and trucks. So, it wasn’t a big surprise to anyone that he became an auto mechanic just like his Dad. At age 20, Bill married his love May, had a son, William Charles Rissky, Jr. (Billy) very soon after and bought a home for them in Brookfield, IL. He tried to work for other people but just couldn’t do it, so he opened a business of his own. During his working life Bill owned and operated three auto repair businesses. Each succeeding business was a step up financially for himself and his family, enabling them to purchase a better home in Bolingbrook, IL., vacations to Eagle River, WI and then a vacation home in Wilmington, IL. Unfortunately, Bill’s life also included suffering from many medical issues. He always plowed through them with his inborn strength and stubbornness (and a lot of help from his wife May). This made him seem indestructible until it was his time to leave us. October was a special month for Bill: His, May’s and Billy’s birthdays and His and May’s wedding anniversary were all in October. So, it seemed fitting that that October would be the month that he passed away in, Oct. 19, 2018, one day after his 65th birthday. Bill was a regular, hard-working guy who realized his dream of owning his own business, making a good life for his family and having a place in the country to relax on the weekends. Bill’s work ethic and generosity touched many lives during his time with us, he will be greatly missed.
