Ronald R. Ratke

Ronald R. Ratke, 65 of Lombard, passed away with family by his side on Sunday, February 18th at Hines VA Hospice Center where he was lovingly cared for. Ron was born on February 22, 1952 to Robert and Peggy Ratke. Ron grew up in Lombard and resided there all of his adult life. He was a graduate of Glenbard West High School. Ron spent most of his life working in the car business in car sales and finance. He was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Army. Ron was passionate about music, baseball and golf. He was happiest playing golf or going to concerts with his son, spending time with his daughter, taking his "grand dog" Jack on long walks in the forest preserve, or playing outside with his granddaughters. He is survived by his 2 children, Jessica (Matthew) Stielow and James and his 2 granddaughters, Grace and Annabelle. Ron is also survived by his 3 siblings, Rennie (Greg) Bauer, Ruth and Ray (Amy) and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Peggy and his brother, Bob. A visitation and Catholic funeral mass will take place at St. Micahel's Catholic Church in Wheaton on Saturday, March 10th. Internment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL and will be private. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ron's estate to cover his funeral expenses. All remaining monies will be donated in Ron's name to Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital Hospice Center and can be sent c/o Jessica Stielow: 27W714 Washington Ave., Winfield, IL 60190.
