Mileva Djordjevic, 89, of Lyons, IL passed away peacefully on Friday September 27, 2019. She was born in Cvetanovac Ljig, Serbia on October 13, 1929. Mileva came to America on December 15, 1968 with her husband Gvozden and sons Dragan and Milic to join her brother Milic Marinkovic of Lyons, IL who passed away in February 1988. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Church in Bellwood, IL. Mileva was preceded in death by her parents, Vojislav and Cveta Marinkovic and her four brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Gvozden Djordjevic; children: Borivoj Petrovic, Dragan (Nadine) Djordjevic, and Milic (Diane) Djordjevic; grandchildren: Michael and Sonja Petrovic, Natalie and Alexander Djordjevic and Tatiana Djordjevic. Mileva was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and a strong and courageous woman who loved her family dearly. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 5, 2019 directly at 10 am at St. John the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Church, 405 Englewood Ave. Bellwood, IL with Rev. Sava Bosanac officiating. Interment at New Gracanica Cemetery, Third Lake, IL. Visitation will be held Friday October 4, 2019 at Tower Home for Funerals, 4007 Joliet Ave. Lyons, IL from 4-8 pm with Pomen service at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Church.
