Maria Denice Nieves Reyes

Maria Denice Nieves-Reyes, born on January 7, 1978, in Chicago, IL, passed away on October 6, 2024, in Maywood, IL. Maria grew up in Cicero, IL, and moved to Crest Hill, IL, in 2005. She was a devoted wife to Felipe Reyes and a loving mother to her four children: Magdalic Alexis Reyes (1996), Felipe Reyes Jr. (2001), Yuliana Reyes, (2007), and Roberto Nicolás Reyes (2015). She was also a proud grandmother to her first grandchild, Ehlani, born to Felipe Reyes Jr. and Elissa Garcia on September 22, 2023.

As an accomplished ultrasound technician, Maria dedicated her career to helping others, embodying her kind and loving nature in every aspect of her life. Known as the sweetest person you would ever meet, she brought joy to those around her, always ready to brighten someone’s day or lend a helping hand.

Maria had a passion for singing and dancing, always the first one on the dance floor and often filling her home with the sounds of her favorite band, Los Temerarios. Her love for music was matched only by her deep affection for her family, which included her parents, Marcelina Romero and Nicolas Nieves, and her siblings, Jaime Nieves and Rosenia Zaragoza, but her love extended to all her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Maria’s warmth and positivity left a lasting impact on the lives of everyone she met. She will be remembered for her unwavering kindness and her ability to lift spirits with her joyful presence. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends
