Lourdes Tovar

Lourdes Tovar, age 40, passed away on January 31, 2026. Born in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico. Lourdes was the beloved wife of Guadalupe Garcia for 19 years. Loving mother of Sadie Julisa Garcia and Enoch Gabriel Garcia, dearest daughter of Adela Tovar and the late Raul Tovar, dear sister of Jesus Raul, Fe, Moises, and Olga.  Lourdes had a lifelong devotion to her faith in which she was an active member of the lectors group at her church, St. Mary Frances of the Five Wounds. As well as a catechism teacher at St. Charles Borromeo.  She studied Early Childhood Development & Culinary Arts at Triton College. Her gentle spirit allowed her to have a special connection with children.  Lourdes cherished peaceful pleasures such as gardening, knitting, and being active. She found joy in the calmness of marine life. She especially loved to make those around her laugh through her humor & sarcasm.  Above all, she was a beloved mother, beautiful both inside and out. Her kindness will never be forgotten and will be carried on in the hearts of her loved ones.  Visitation on Friday February 6, from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Tower Home for Funerals, 4007 Joliet Road in Lyons, Illinois.  Funeral Mass on Saturday February 7th, 10:30 a.m. at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church (St. Mary Frances of the Five Wounds), 1500 S. 59th Court, Cicero, Illinois.  Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
