Jean Sauer

JEAN T. SAUER (née Sass) – 93, born in Downers Grove, Illinois to George and
Erna (née Diesing) Sass on April 3, 1929. Jean was a nearly 70-year resident of
Stickney. She was devoted to her family. Jean endured a great deal in her life, but
she always came through it with humor. She focused, not on the loss or pain, but
on all she still had to be joyful for. She always put her family before her own needs
and nothing made her happier than when her family was gathered together. She
was always looking for fun in the everyday and was quick with a smile or a joke.
Jean died peacefully on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Loyola Medicine
MacNeal Hospital, Berwyn surrounded by family. Jean is survived by her children
Stephen (Donna) Sauer, Kathy (Gene) Teel, and Jeannine Sauer, her grandchildren
Debra Lindsay, John Lindsay, Jason Hausknecht, Robert (Andrea) Lindsay, Holly
Leyden, and Katelyn Sauer, her great grandchildren Lindsay and Aaron
Kwiatkowski. Jean is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years, John
Sauer, her children Michael, Christine Lindsay and Thomas, her parents, her sister
Dorothy Kurz and brothers Herbert and Edward Sass, many in-laws, family, and
friends. We remember Jean as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-
grandmother, for her strength, resilience, humor, bright smile, generous spirit and
love of her family, animals, music, plants, puzzles, crafts and the Cubs. Visitation:

Avenue, Stickney Saturday November 19, 2022, at 10:00 am; Interment: Queen of
