James Mickenbecker “Mick” passed away Monday , September 28, 2020. Born October 11, 1949 to Eugenia and Clarence Mickenbecker. He was a life-long resident of Berwyn, IL.  After retiring from the US Postal service James enjoyed spending time with his brothers at the VFW and American Legion. He had the greatest respect for those that served this country and enjoyed being in their company. James enjoyed spending time with family, working in the yard and feeding his birds and squirrel friends. He enjoyed fishing, his Chicago White Sox and most of all, spending time with his grandsons which he adored. James served in the Vietnam war and was preceded in death by his mother Eugenia B. Jean and Clarence H. Mickenbecker. He survived by his loving wife Len of 48 years, son Paul, daughter-in-law Andria, sister Marie and brother Wayne, brother-in-law John, grandsons Eric, Alec and Ryan, niece Sandy, nephew John and many cousins.

He will be missed greatly by his family and the many friends he’s impacted over his lifetime.

When I come to the end of my journey, and I travel my last weary mile,
Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned, and remember only the smile.
Forget unkind words I have spoken; Remember some good I have done,
Forget that I ever had heartache, and remember I've had loads of fun.
Forget that I've stumbled and blundered, and sometimes fell by the way.
Remember I have fought some hard battles, and won, ere the close of the day.
Then forget to grieve for my going, I would not have you sad for a day.
