Elsie Kuhn

Elsie Maryann Kuhn nee Meisenbach, 84, of La Grange Park, IL, long time resident of Hinsdale, passed peacefully to join Marvin, her devoted husband of 61 years, on March 25, 2016, at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, MO. Memorial service will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, April 16, in the Meeting Room at Presence Health ‐ Bethlehem Woods, 1571 W Ogden Ave. La Grange Park, Illinois.   Elsie Meisenbach was born January 13, 1932, at home in Westmont, IL.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Louisa Meisenbach, her father, Fred Holst, her sister, Louise Simundic (formerly Nilsen), her brother John Meisenbach and her granddaughter Lydia Bolster.   She attended New Trier High School in Winnetka, IL. She married Marvin Kuhn, July 1, 1950. They lived in Hinsdale over 60 years, where they raised their 6 children. Marvin’s family were the original owners of The Cypress Inn, Hinsdale   Many came to know Elsie as a fixture of the community as a waitress and cook at Barth Pharmacy in Hinsdale and York Tavern in Oakbrook.   She is survived by her children Donna (Robert) Sutter, Diane (Bruce) Boeck, Darlene (James) Nieman, Susan (Randy) Pearson, Deborah Bolster, and, Michael (Alice) Kuhn, along with 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
