Charlie Atkins, 90, of Lyons, IL, passed away on December 3rd, 2020, peacefully at home. He was born November 15th, 1930 in Millport, Alabama. He married Barbara Atkins, the love of his life, in 1953, who survives him. Charlie is also survived by son Michael Atkins, and grandchildren Brian Atkins, Brittany Atkins, Brandon Atkins, Jeremy Middleton and Daniella Atkins.
As a very young man he learned to work hard to support himself and his family. When he came to Illinois, he worked at Reynolds Aluminum for 36 years. Charlie also started his own business, Atkins Upholstery in 1970 beside his wife. Charlie was also successful in his two patents, Brim Forming Cap Holder (1998) and the Mobile Elevating Hut (2006).
Charlie was loved by many and leaves behind a lifetime of memories, love, and laughter.
