Obituary

Brian Duncan, a Double Master Automobile Technician and longtime resident of Lyons, IL died unexpectedly on November 9th, 2022 at the age of 66 while at home.

Brian is survived by his wife Cathleen, his son James (Heather) Duncan, daughter Michelle (Roger) (Duncan) Miklas, sister Linda (Duncan) Faught and brother David Duncan. Brian also had 5 grandchildren; Ian, Taylor, Jordan, Julia and Jazmine and numerous nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his mother and father, David & Lorraine Duncan.

Brian was born in Berwyn, IL on January 25th, 1956. He graduated from Morton West High School in Berwyn, IL. On November 30th, 1974, he married Cathy, his high school sweetheart and love of his life.

Brian was a devoted husband, father and family man. He loved his childhood life of helping his Parents in the elevator business and being proud of his time in the Civil Air Patrol. From Greaser to Gear Head, he always had a love of fast and loud! Working in the automotive industry all of his life turning wrenches, his wild excitement of stock car racing (at Santa Fe), drag racing, "Mr 409" with his 1964 Chevy Impala SS which he treasured (at Great Lakes) to "Radar" in boat racing (out on the Illinois River) and being an avid camper throughout, he finally was able to put his tools down and continue as a Warranty Analyst, remaining in the automobile field.  His favorite hobby was enjoying the outdoors; camping with his family and friends and being out on the water. He was the best DJ and always the HOST with the MOST, welcoming and treating everyone like family. He was a gentle giant with a love of his furry friends especially of his Amber, who brought so much fun, comfort & happiness to his world. Brian spent every day of his life unselfishly caring, helping, supporting & loving all who were in his life. His hugs were the greatest ever and his jokes, laughter and smile was so infectious! Truly an unforgettable part and piece of so many and will be missed beyond measure.

A memorial service is scheduled from 3pm-8pm on Sunday November 20th at Tower Funeral Home 4007 Joliet Road, Lyons IL, 60534 (708) 447-7900. There will be an optional gathering after the service at Irish Times Pub 8869 Burlington Ave Brookfield, IL 60513.

You toiled so hard for those you loved.

You said goodbye to none.

Your spirit flew before we knew,

your work on earth was done.

We miss you now, Our hearts are sore.

As time goes by, we miss you more.

Your loving smile, Your gentle face:

No one can fill your vacant place.

Your life was love and labor,

Your love for your family true.

You did the best for all of us.

We will always remember you
