Andrew “Andy” J Wloch, age 83, passed away peacefully on Aug 28, 2025 , surrounded by the love of his family. Andy was the devoted husband of Barbara and the proud father of Anthony (Lori) Wloch and Jason(Melissa) Wloch. He was the loving grandfather of Sarah, Kaeli, Brady and Scott, who brought him endless joy. Andy was also a dear brother to Connie Slavick, and he is preceded in death by his brother Dan (Elaine) and Stanley(Dawn). He was a caring uncle to many wonderful nieces and nephews, who will remember his kindness and warmth. Born to Anna and Peter Wloch, Andy grew up with a strong sense of family. He loved being alongside his closest childhood friends John and Fred. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he developed a deep love for his country and carried that patriotic spirit throughout his life. Andy went on to work for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years, where he was known for his reiability, hard work, and dedication. He was happiest in conversation, whether sharing stories, debating history, or simply connecting with others. He loved books, libraries, and the joy of learning, as well as spending time outdoors in his garden. Above all, Andy’s greatest devotion was to his wife of 57 years Barbara , with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Andy’s llife at his wake on Tuesday, September 2 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Tower Funeral Home, 4007 Joliet Ave, Lyons, IL 60534. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 3, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 105 Herrick Road, Riverside, IL. Andy will be laid to rest at Mt. Auburn Funeral Home and Cemetery 4101 S. Oak Park Avenue, Stickney, IL
