It is with great sadness that the family of Lorine Amison announces her passing on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at the age of 76 years old. Lorine was born on Saturday, July 8, 1944 in Flat Top, Alabama. Her parents were James Amison and Anna (Erwin) Amison. She had an identical twin sister (Catherine), and she was the seventh child of fourteen children (James, John, Elizabeth, Melvin, Charles, Catherine, Wallace, Carl, Susie, Rosemary, Roosevelt, Rosetta, and Grace).
Lorine moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1969. She worked as a housekeeper for a period. After the birth of her first child Wanderer in 1973, she stayed home to take care of her child. She gave birth to her second child Melissa in 1979. Her children can attest that she was honest, caring, and supportive. She enjoyed watching television, listening to music, reading, crafts, coloring, and cooking. She never complained about anything, she was very strong where she beat breast cancer in 2007, and she did not let adversaries of life get her down. Lorine will always be remembered as strong, tenacious, and shy. She will let you know when she is upset, and you have “crossed” her. She did not stress about the “small things” in life. She had a great sense of humor and she embodied a peaceful spirit. Lorine believed in God and she was a very spiritual person. These beliefs helped shape her interactions and perspective of life. Lorine exhibited a powerhouse that was hard to be indestructible. This was exhibited by her ongoing health ailments that she continued to fight and her unwillingness to allow them to succumb her. Lorine's strength was visible towards the end where she continued to fight for life until God called her home.
Lorine is survived by her children Wanderer Amison and Melissa Amison; and siblings (Catherine Reynolds, Elizabeth Owens, John Amison, Susie Billingsley, Rosetta Crenshaw, Roosevelt Amison, and Grace Amison).
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
