Fred Earl Wendel, of Chicago Il, passed away at home, on September 12, 2020.
Fred was born July 12, 1950, baby brother to Kathy and big brother to the late Buddy Wendel. Fred is survived by his wife Lupe, together 26 years; and his sister Kathy, sister-in-law Marilyn and nieces and nephews from Texas throughout Illinois and the East Coast.
Uncle Fred, as many of us knew him, was always the jokester, and an inspiration for living in the moment, being cool and having great hair. Some of his greatest times came from hopping on the bike and just letting the wind take him. He loved his motorcycles, friends, siblings, family and his old lady, Lupe.
Fred served in the Vietnam war and was preceded in death by his mother LaVergne (Wenzel) Sourwine, father Arnold E. Wendel Sr., and Brother Arnold E. Wendel Jr..
Arrangements are with Tower Funeral Homes in Lyons, IL.
I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard.
I felt the answer in my heart
Although he spoke no word!
I didn't ask for wealth or fame
(I knew you wouldn't mind).
I asked him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind!
I asked that he be near you
At the start of each new day;
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share your way!
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small.
But it was for his loving care
I prayed the most of all!
