It is with sadness that the family of Ike Mayrens (Ivars Meirenovs) of Chicago, Illinois, announce his passing on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at the age of 82. Ike was born on July 10, 1937 in Riga, Latvia. He was a US 3rd Infantry Army Veteran, nature lover, enjoyed traveling and was active in Latvian society.
Ike will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Hedwig, and his children, Maija Steele (Joseph), Michael Mayrens (Bonnie), Ingrid Allmon (Jon) , John Mayrens (Lisa Eannarino-Mayrens), Ronald Mayrens (Becky), and Linda Johnson (Randy). Ike will also be fondly remembered by his nine grandchildren, Sylvia Brackin (Christopher), Sarah Contreras-Ramirez (Ulises), Kyle Nowack (Erica Subkowski), Taylor Celia (Nate), Haley Mayrens, Jessica Laughter (Zach), Nicholas VanCleave, Jake Johnson, Austin Johnson, his two great grandchildren, Roman Contreras-Ramirez, Eric Nowack and his goddaughter Teresa Edelstein.
A memorial service for Ike Mayrens (Ivars Meirenovs) will be held on Sunday, October 27th, 12 Noon, followed by a luncheon at the Chicago Zion Evangelical Latvian Lutheran Church, Cianas Draudze, 6551 W Montrose Ave, Chicago, Illinois 60634. All friends of Ike Mayrens and his family are welcome.
In lieu of flowers a donation to the Cianas Draudze can be made in his memory.
