Dale R. Lodding

Dale Lodding (June 9, 1959 to January 4, 2018)

Dale was a gentle giant, kind soul, loving brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He loved life and joyfully shared his incredible memory, memorabilia and all things trivia to anyone who would listen. He could name any song in the first 10 notes! In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing, dart baseball, fishing, tennis, fishing, softball, fishing, baseball, fishing, bowling (and was proud of his perfect game trophy), fishing, and getting ready for fishing trips! He would play video games for hours with his niece, nephews, and brother. He passed peacefully, January 4th with game and stylus in hand. Dale had a great love for his St. John’s UCC family serving as a greeter, council member, and elder. He was often found running the raffle table and the church odds and ends table.

He leaves behind his brother Keith (sister-in-law Nancy), sister Beth (brother-in-law Rich),niece Lori Korda, nephews Kyle Korda, Robert Lodding, and Patrick Lodding plus his wiggly waggly, Tia. Also left behind are millions of fish yet to be caught, by his brother…..

He was preceded in death by his father Robert, mother Jane and all grandparents.

His smiles, hugs and laughter will be missed by all whose lives he touched. He will be missed.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 31st @ 11am at St. John’s UCC, 4500 Prescott Ave, Lyons, IL 60534.  The family suggests sending memorial contributions to St. John’s UCC. We ask that you take a moment to hug your child, grandchildren, friend, or take a walk for a moment, an hour, or a day. Time waits for no one.
